Christal Frost is a Northern Michigan native, growing up in Benzie County, graduating from Benzie Central High School in 1998 (GO HUSKIES!) and moving on to Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City. She has a background in non-profit management, and began her career locally at Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Traverse, after completing a year of service with Americorps National Service.
She started in radio in 2007, and feels as though she has finally found her broadcasting home with WTCM, first with NewsTalk 580 in 2012 as a producer, and then as the host of “The Christal Frost Show” in 2014. In 2018, she started getting up a little earlier and joined the Morning Show on Today’s Country Music WTCM.
Christal is actively involved with many community groups, including the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center, Parallel 45 Theatre and the National Cherry Festival, and is the co-founder of the CherryT Ball Drop New Year’s Eve events.
Aside from her career and charitable work, Christal is married with two children, ages 14 and 18. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, making fun of her two cats, “Beans” and “Beans’ Brother,” organizing other people’s closets (never her own), and going to second hand stores.
